Co-curricular activities are those activities that take place in the schools that are outside the Curriculum which help in enhancing the achievement of the Curricular and Debating Club, Mathematics Club, Young Farmers, Geography/Conservation Club.

In Federal Government Girls’ College, Calabar, there are a number of Clubs and Societies which are categorized into two groups – subject based and non-subject based clubs.  The subject based clubs are:  Jet club, Literary and Debating club, Mathematics club, Young Farmers, Geography/Conservation club, Historical/Commonwealth, Chess/Scrabble, Gymnastic, Economic/Stock Exchange , Business Education, Young Christian Association, French, Music. The non-subject based clubs includes : Press club, Nigeria Girls Guide, Anti-Aids/Health club, Anti-corruption club, Cultural Club, Young Readers, College Choir, NAFDAC Consumers safety club and Road Safety clubs.

The College is active in Co-curricular activities.  In the recent concluded President’s 2012 – Inter Secondary School Debate Championship, this great college came first in both Zonal and National Levels with one of the College Contestants – Miss Minika Orok Ita-Abasi emerging the best Speaker in the both Zonal and National Levels.  The College was awarded a cash prize of N100,000.

In the last concluded 2012 – FEDCOL Games competition which this great College hosted successfully, the College came Second in Match Past.  In 2010 – Youth Speak Out Debate Competition for Secondary Schools in the Country organized and conducted by Federal Ministry of Education, Abuja, the College emerged the overall third position in the final stage with our student – Miss Rachael Inyang emerging the best Speaker in the tournament and was awarded :- a Laptop, N20,000, 3 School bags, Scholarship to study abroad.  The College was also awarded a complete set of Computer and 10 Copies of comprehensive Sexuality Education Traners’ Resource Manual.

In 2009 Zonal FEDCOL Games, two students – Miss Prisciliia Obasse and Miss Cordelia Adeyemi who represented the College in Scrabble emerged first and second positions respectively.

And in 2010 national FEDCOL Games held in Janiniki, Lagos, the College emerged the overall  third position in Scrabble.
Presently, Science quiz, Mathematics quiz and Cowbell Mathematics Competitions are going on in the State and the College is actively participating.  Our students representing the College are doing very well to make the College proud.
